Ex-Apple employee left his house so filthy neighbours thought there was a dead body inside

37-year-old Robert Kummer, a former Apple
employee, has been jailed for a year for causing
£5000 worth of damage to a house that had cost
the owner €160000 to renovate. He left piles of
rubbish so high they reached the countertops and
smeared excrement on the walls, floors and
ceilings of the flat. It took the unfortunate landlord, Michael Mulligan
six months to clean because he couldn't afford a
cleaner at the time. The 37-year-old German was
caught after horrified neighbours called in the
police fearing the foul smell was a dead body.
Psychiatrist Dr John Dennehy said Kummer might
have been depressed but was “at a loss to
explain his behaviour”.
