Following the report that 105 soldiers were
feared missing after the gun confronting with
the Boko Haram terrorists Nigerians took to
the Twiiter and called on President
Muhammadu Buhari to act swiftly on the
case of the missing soldiers.
The slogan #BringBackOurGirls became a
rallying cry for millions on Facebook,
Instagram, YouTube and Twitter, where the
hash tag was retweeted more than 4 million
times.
The social media campaign was launched to
help rescue 276 Chibok girls abducted from a
secondary school in northeast Nigeria by the
deadly Boko Haram sect.
President Muhammadu Buhari has ordered
his army commanders to end the violence by
the end of the year, after the extremist group
kill thousands and leave homeless many
Nigerians in six years of conflict.
Nigerians have answered to the news of the
soldiers’ disappearance using the hashtag,
“#BringBackOurSoldiers”.
