According to Dr Ope Banwo, the Chief Host and
Founder of the Change Vigilantes Organization,
“Since many of us fought hard for a change of
government from the previously unacceptable
records of Goodluck Jonathan, we are all
responsible for holding this new government
accountable for the progress and change they
promised us. The whole essence of clamouring
for change is that it will no longer be business
as usual in our political landscape”
The Co-Founder/Chairman of Change Vigilantes,
Dr Ope Banwo further explained, “When
politicians make us promises when asking for
our votes, we have a right to hold them
accountable for those promises once they get
into office, and demand explanations when
things are not working right. This government
has been in place for one year and it is time we
ask them pointed questions about their
stewardship on behalf of the people. We also
have a duty to provide constructive ideas to
help them do their jobs better. Nigeria belongs
to all of us, and regardless of the side of the
political divide we find ourselves; we will be
failing in our patriotic duty if we do not hold our
leaders’ feet to the fire to ensure they do not
forget that power indeed belongs to the people.
