An EgyptAir flight from Paris to Cairo has disappeared from radar with 59 passengers and 10 crew on board, the airline says.
Flight MS804 departed the French capital at 11.09pm (CEST) before vanishing, according to what the airline described as an informed source.
The airline said that the plane lost contact with radar at 2.45am, Cairo time (1.45am BST).
It was at 37,000ft when it disappeared approximately 3 hours and 40 minutes into the flight, they added.
The Airbus A320 is understood to have been 10 miles into Egyptian airspace but over the Mediterranean Sea at the time.
Egypt's Civil Aviation Ministry says that search and rescue teams are looking for the plane.
Sky News Middle East Correspondent Sherine Tadros said the plane has been missing for more than three hours.
"There are various airliners that make that indirect flight. EgyptAir is among the only ones that fly direct.
"This is a popular route, this is a time when people would have wanted to make that trip for business reasons, for personal reasons.
"It's not a very long flight. So really at this point we just have to wait and see what has happened to this flight - where it could be."
