Two Victims Rescued From Kidnappers' Den In Rivers State

Rivers state police command today Tuesday, December 1, 2015, at about 4.30 am rescued two victims from Umubele Waterfront in Port Harcourt.

According to a statement by the DSP Ahmad Muhammad, the Police Public Relations Office (PPRO), the command succeeded with this victory after its onslaught on the suspected criminals’ hideout.

The rescued victims were Chris Lebare and George Amuobi.

Muhammad said: “On 01/12/2015 at about 4:30 am, a tactical unit of the Command stormed Umubele waterfront in Port Harcourt and successfully rescued two more kidnapped victims namely Chris Lebare and George Amuobi. The duo were differently kidnapped on 22/11/2015 along Rumuokoro/Rumuigbo roads in Port Harcourt.”

In the operation, three unidentified suspected kidnappers found guarding the rescued victims were shot dead in the course of rescuing the victims.

Police said it recovered two locally made pistols, one axe and charms were from the kidnappers’ den.

The commissioner of police encouraged the good people of Rivers state to continue trusting in the ability of the police to tackle any security challenge.

In a related development, a Corps member, three teachers and a security guard kidnapped from the State Secondary School in Agban-Ndele in Ndele community in Emohua local government area of the state have regained freedom.
