Prior to Saturday’s UFC 199 Pay-Per-View, Ariel Helwani of MMAFighting.com first broke the news that UFC was in serious negotiations with former UFC Heavyweight Champion and current WWE Superstar Brock Lesnar to fight at the July 9th UFC 200 show. This rumor was quickly confirmed by both UFC, who aired a promotional video during UFC 199 to advertise Lesnar’s return, and WWE. However, Helwani, along with his associates, who were attending UFC 199, were apparently removed from the event by security, had their press credentials taken away, and were informed that they have been banned for life from UFC events, simply for reporting the news.

This is not the first time that UFC has gone after Helwani, who in the past was also denied access to UFC events in response to him reporting on Bellator, a MMA organization that is a direct competitor to UFC. Helwani has also accused UFC and their President, Dana White, of contributing to his dismissal from his reporting job at Fox.
